Understand legal requirements and industry standards for load securing.
Identify risks associated with loading and unloading heavy plant and goods.
Select suitable lifting and securing equipment for different loads.
Apply safe systems of work when loading and unloading vehicles.
Demonstrate correct use of chains, straps, and other load restraints.
Position and distribute loads safely to maintain vehicle stability.
Recognise common load securing failures and how to prevent them.
Communicate effectively with drivers, banksmen, and site personnel.
Carry out pre-journey load checks and inspections.
Respond safely to incidents or emergencies during loading/unloading.
