Overhead & Gantry Crane Operator Training
Candidates who successfully complete this course will gain the skills and knowledge needed to safely and competently inspect and operate overhead cranes. The training provides a clear understanding of crane functions, lifting procedures, and correct operating techniques. Learners will also become aware of the main hazards involved in overhead crane operations—such as load handling, suspended loads, and collision risks—and how to avoid or reduce these through safe systems of work and adherence to health and safety legislation.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to carry out pre-use checks, recognise unsafe conditions, and apply safe operating practices to protect people, property, and equipment.
