COURSE CONTENT
- Legislation & Standards – legal duties under Health & Safety, LOLER, PUWER, and GA1 requirements.
- Roles & Responsibilities – operator, banksman, and site management duties.
- Crane Types & Components – HIAB features, controls, stabilisers, and attachments.
- Pre-Use Inspections – daily checks, defect reporting, and record keeping.
- Stability & Safe Positioning – ground conditions, stabilisers, and safe working load limits.
- Lifting Principles – load charts, slinging methods, and safe use of lifting accessories.
- Safe Operating Practices – lifting, slewing, extending, retracting, and lowering loads.
- Communication & Signalling – working with banksmen and standard hand signals.
- Load Security & Transport Safety – securing loads for transit and preventing shifting.
- Emergency Procedures – dealing with equipment failure, power loss, and unsafe situations.
- Demonstration of Learning – Delegates will complete practical and written assessments
